Inspired by the works of Robert Mapplethorpe and Tom of Finland, the project delves into the juxtaposition of delicate, organic forms with bold, anthropomorphic and fetishist imagery, creating a dialogue that is as sensual as it is subversive. I aim to create a body of work that challenges traditional binaries by merging disparate visual languages, to celebrate queer identity, fetish culture, and botanical beauty in a way that is unapologetically provocative. I plan to provoke thought on the intersection of human desire, natural forms, and cultural symbolism. This collection of work aims to be a visually arresting and thought-provoking exploration of contrasts, identities, and desires. By merging the botanical with the erotic, the natural with the subversive, the project seeks to redefine how we perceive beauty, power, and intimacy.

Scott Livesey Galleries
610 High Street
Prahran VIC 3181
Tel: + 61 3 9824 7770
www.scottliveseygalleries.com

Floroscuro – Scott Livesey Galleries (late 2026) This exhibition explores the interplay of dichotomies—hard and soft, nature and artifice, intimacy and exhibitionism—through a synthesis of botanical art, homoerotic imagery, and fetish aesthetics.
